Annabel Neasham – Sydney

annabel-neashamAnnabel Neasham moved to Australia from the UK in 2016 and has quickly become the rising star of the training ranks in Sydney.

Annabel initially took up a position with Gai Waterhouse as a trackwork rider and after six months with Gai, relocated to the Caulfield stable of Ciaron Maher.

Learning from one of the best horsemen and trainers in the country, Annabel was able to work with quality Group 1 winners such as Jameka and Merchant Navy. Maher soon put her in charge of their Sydney stable that was established in 2018.

Under Annabel’s watch, the stable recorded more than 50 victories in New South Wales in its first two seasons and unveiled a string of high-quality young horses such as Dubious, Prague, Away Game, Holyfield and Cellsabeel.

In 2020 Annabel took the opportunity to apply for her own training license and has now been set up at Warwick Farm in Sydney for just over 16 months with 70 horses in work.

Since pursuing her career as a solo trainer, Annabel has achieved an astounding five Group 1 wins, Three Group 2 victories and two Listed successes. Her stable stars include Zaaki who most recently won the Mackinnon Stakes in November and Mo’unga who claimed the Winx Stakes in August of 2022.
