We are holding a charity auction this Friday the 15th of October at 6pm at the Bottle Lake Golf Club in Christchurch to raise funds for apprentice jockey Yong Chew. Yong is a Malaysian national, courageously battling cancer a long way from home. He is unable to travel home and his family cannot travel to be with him. We have gathered some unique and valuable items and experiences through the generosity of our contacts and you can see these auction items here.
Everyone has the option of bidding on these even if you cannot attend in person. Alternatively, if you would like to make a direct donation, do so into bank account BNZ 02-0568-0008371-39.
To bid on an item you have the following options:
Please contact either Matt Allnutt firstname.lastname@example.org (027 203 7776) or Sean O’Connor email@example.com (027 412 6533) to register for options 1 or 2 above, before 10am on Friday the 15th of October.
Should you be the successful bidder on a lot, you will be able to pay by eftpos on the day or transfer payment into the Yong Chew fundraiser bank account BNZ 02 0568 0008371 39, giving your name and Lot number as the reference. Payments must be made by 5pm Monday the 18th of October.
Items can be collected in person at the auction. If you are not in attendance, the items will be sent to you, but the postage will need to be paid by the winning bidder.
Funds raised will be distributed to Yong and his family through Racetrack Support. This is a charitable arm of the Salvation Army that exists for the care and wellbeing of people in the racing industry.
