The New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run sale of two-year-olds is held next Wednesday the 12th and Thursday the 13th of November at Karaka, where we will be buying one horse for Chris Waller in Australia and one to be trained in New Zealand.
The Ready-To Run sale has a phenomenal record as the greatest breeze-up sale in the world, producing 10 Group 1 winners in the last season alone. The exciting Lord Penman, second in the Silver Eagle and raced in The Golden Eagle last Saturday, is a recent graduate of the sale for us.
We have done an enormous amount of homework, including being the only party to record our own timings of horses from the 400-metre mark of their breeze to 100 metres after the line, incorporating the sprint they are officially timed for. We measure stride-length and get a full picture of their profile ahead of inspections.
