We will be buying two fast and well-bred fillies at the Magic Millions sale on the Gold Coast next week, one for Stephen Marsh and the other for our new trainer, Andrew Forsman. We are targeting fillies that will get up and run early in New Zealand’s rich two-year-old Group events and then the three-year-old Group and Guineas races.
Prizemoney for two-year-old’s and Group three-year-old fillies has exploded in New Zealand in the last two years and we consistently see Australian-bred fillies dominating this sector and becoming high-priced broodmares at the end of their careers.
This sale gives us access to large numbers of yearlings by the top Australian-based sires that aren’t available in New Zealand. Both fillies will also be entered for the A$20 million race series giving them the opportunity to win enormous prizemoney.
