Progressive mare, Stiletto gave the Goody 4 Shoes syndicate the best possible finish to the weekend when she made it two wins from her last two starts, when winning easily at Kranji on Sunday evening.
She hadn’t raced since her maiden victory on the 6th of December, and although she needed Sunday’s run, she proved to be a class above her opposition as she scored comfortably, by just under a length. It was her second win from only four starts and she once again proved what an outstanding mare she is. She has now placed in all four of her race day starts since arriving in Singapore and she will only continue to get better with more racing.
She was ridden to victory by the in form Barend Vorster, and after riding her twice, for two wins, he has a big opinion of Stiletto. He said that she needed Sunday nights run, and it was only her big heart and determination that got her over the line. He said she was gone with 100 metres to go but just kept fighting and refused to lie down. He said she will take a lot of improvement out of the race and will be better next time she lines up.
Stiletto, who is trained by ex pat Kiwi, Bruce Marsh will still be eligible for class 4 races despite Sunday night’s victory. It was a stakes D race which is open to horses rated 55 or less and it is virtually penalty free. It was a $35,000 race and a lot of credit must go to Bruce for placing her so well and for having her ready to win whilst still not having her at peak, is a great training performance.
The progeny of Strategic Image are going well at the moment and they are proving to be tough horses, with plenty of heart and they just love winning. Her full sister, Zanotti recorded her maiden victory and is being set for the New Zealand Oaks in March.
Congratulations to the Goody 4 Shoes syndicate.
