Prince Mambo seeks Million

An easy win for two-year-old Prince Mambo in the Greene Racing Juvenile at Te Rapa on Saturday sees him Karaka Million bound says Racing Manager Albert Bosma.

“We had high hopes from him after a very good second on debut but in the race on Saturday he had to give five kilos to the favourite, Xquisit, and was racing with 58 kg so it was a big ask.”

In the end Thewayyouare x Grace Park colt was way too good and it was an easy win. Albert also has a big opinion of his sire. “Thewayyouare looks to be leaving tough horses with a lot of ability. He could have a big future as a sire in New Zealand.”

“This win should qualify Prince Mambo for the prestigious Karaka Millions in January and we’ll aim him for that. In the meantime, he’ll either have a brief spell or he may race on 23 November at Counties in the listed Murdoch Newell Stakes over 1100 metres,” says Albert.

The win was the first for Go Racing in partnership with champion trainer Stephen McKee. Say Albert, “We are thrilled to have a trainer of  Stephen’s calibre and reputation as part of the Go Racing family. I’m confident this will be the first win of many.”
