Zanotti heads to stakes class

Three-year-old filly Zanotti raced above herself when running a fresh up third in the maiden 3yo 1400 metres at Whangarei on Saturday.

Trainer Stephen Marsh was very happy with the performance. “It was an excellent run. She was pushed very wide on the turn and lost balance but once she got settled again, hit the line well. She was underdone for the race and had only two gallops leading into it, so will improve a lot fitness-wise. We feel she is up to stakes company and will get better as she steps up over more ground.”

Zanotti will test that theory at her next race when she races in the $50,000 Listed Soliloquy Stakes for three-year-old fillies over 1400 metres at Ellerslie on the 28th of September.
