Campari steps up to Saturday grade

With two wins from just three starts in her Australian campaign, Campari has more than earned a few drinks.

Her win on Melbourne Cup Day at Royal Randwick was the result of a well-judged ride by Jason Collett. She was ridden right off the speed and then burst home on the rail for an impressive and, in the end, easy win.

Says Racing Manger Albert Bosma “We believe she broke a class record at Radwick – 1.21.33 seconds over 1400 metres. We are just so delighted with how she is going. Not only has she proved herself but also proved our approach of bringing her over to race through the grades. It’s paying dividends for her owners.”

Campari will step up to Saturday grade but drop in weight for her next start on the 24th of November in a rating 78 1500 metres at Rosehill in a race worth A$125,000.

“It’s great to be able to offer our owners a number of choices of where to race their horse, ” says Albert.
