Lightly-raced Loose Cannon limbers up for the Soliloquy Stakes

Connections of 3YO Tavistock filly Loose Cannon are rapt with her barrier draw for the $70,000 Group 3 Soliloquy Stakes over 1400 metres at Ellerslie tomorrow.

“It’s a lovely draw of barrier 6. She should be able to sit mid field with cover – perfect. 1400 metres should really suit. Her form suggests she should be right in it with the highly rated fillies Media Sensation and London Express looking the ones to beat,” says Go Racing Manager Matt Allnutt.

Matt says the filly is intentionally lightly raced as she is a naturally fit horse that doesn’t carry a lot of condition.

“She has gone two very good races in her first campaign and we look forward to seeing her racing for some valuable black-type on Saturday,” says Matt. “All going well, she will then be off to Riccarton for the $300,000 Group 1 1000 Guineas on the 17th of November.”
