Taste of Campari

Taste of Campari

Aussie punters are obviously enjoying the taste of Campari. The Go Racing 4YO O’Reilly mare Campari is the race favourite at $3.40 at Warwick Farm in the benchmark 70, 1400 metres tomorrow at 6.30pm NZ time. She has drawn a handy visitor’s barrier 3 and Tim Clark will ride.

Trainer Stephen Marsh travels to Sydney today ahead of the race.

“Campari came through her Australian debut win in great order and has improved for it  – her work since then has been right up to the mark. She had her final gallop on Saturday morning and after working strongly, she recovered from it quickly which indicates that stepping up to 1400 metres tomorrow is ideal. The track is currently a heavy 8 however it is forecast to be 23 degrees in Sydney today which should see it improve ahead of tomorrow’s race meeting.”

Meanwhile 3YO Go Racing Savabeel colt Hasabro is playing a waiting game in the Geelong Classic tomorrow to see if he gets the two scratchings needed to make the field. Says trainer Stephen McKee, “He has drawn barrier 14 which is not of concern as we want him to get back. He’s been training in blinkers and that has been very successful. Fingers crossed he makes the field.”

The 3YO Geelong Classic worth A$120,000 runs at 5.20 NZ time.
