Ruud Not Too is enjoying a resurgence in Queensland prior to being offered in the Race Fillies Section of the Magic Millions Broodmare Sale on the 29th of May.
Says Racing Manager Albert Bosma, “We sent her over to Brisbane early to give her a couple of starts before the sale. She is obviously enjoying her “winter escape”. She has absolutely thrived in the Queensland sunshine.”
The biggest indication of just how well she is feeling was an impressive win in a 1000 metre trial win on Tuesday morning.
Trainer Stephen Marsh had nothing but praise. “She was able to jump well from the inside barrier and go forward to lead. She was taken on in the running but after travelling well, she quickened nicely in the straight to win comfortably. There was another horse taking ground off her over the concluding stages however Ruud Not Too had this horse covered. There was a gap of about three lengths back to the third placed horse.”
On the basis of that performance and experienced rider Jim Byrne’s recommendation, she will start in the $100,000 Listed Bright Shadow Quality over 1200 metres on Saturday at Doomben.
Says Albert, “There are a couple of options for her so if she does draws wide, she will be withdrawn and we will start her over 1200 metres at Doomben the following Saturday the 26th of May, or possibly a Group 3 fillies and mares 1350 metres on the same day.
The track for Saturday’s race meeting is currently a good 4 and there is good weather forecast, which is ideal.
