On fire!

On fire!

In blazing fashion, Chariots of Fire notched up his first win in Singapore on Sunday in a S$75,000 restricted maiden over 1200 metres.

It was a tough performance to lead the whole way after being taken on early. When challenged in the straight, he stuck it out at the end to fight off eventual second and third place getters – Draco and One Kinabalu respectively.

Both leading trainer Bruce Marsh and Australian jockey Vlad Duric were impressed with a gutsy effort, with Duric confident the colt will find 1400 and 1600 metre races to his liking.

Chariots of Fire (Showcasing x Sweet Charity) had signaled his winning intention in his last performance where he placed an impressive second, leading the whole way and just pipped at the post.

Racing Manager Albert Bosma said it was a well-deserved win. “He has a terrific attitude and proves he is well suited to the Singapore conditions. It was great to see the Go Racing colours flying there again. We will look at some good three-year-old races for him this season, where he should measure up well.”
