Tearing into her four-year-old career

Excitement is building for the start of classy filly No More Tears’ four-year-old career in the Group 2 $100,000 Foxbridge Plate over 1200 metres this Saturday at Te Rapa.

From 11 starts, No More Tears is a Group 3 and twice Listed winner in New Zealand and Group placed in Australia.

Trainer Stephen Marsh has a top level campaign mapped out for her over the next six weeks with the Foxbridge Plate to be followed by two Group 1’s at Hastings in the spring – the Group 1 Makfi Stakes over 1400 metres on the 27th of August and the Group 1 Windsor Park Plate over 1600 metres.

“She had a gallop at Taupo last week with three-year-old Filly of the Year Sofia Rosa and performed well. She’s also won at Te Rapa before taking out the Listed Hamilton Vets Stakes on debut, in track record time. She likes cut in the track which she should get, so those indications are good.”

“She has drawn the outside barrier of 11 which is awkward, but we think she will go a cheeky first up race. She’s a quality 1200 metres horse, in a very strong field with Kawi the biggest threat.”

Michael Coleman, who has ridden her in every New Zealand start of her career, will be in the saddle again this weekend.
