Go Racing has smashed another ground breaking season with 34 individual winners to 31 July, the official season end.
Go Racing part time statistician and Racing Manager Matt Allnutt is simply delighted especially with stakes money of almost $1,000,000 which is a significantly up on last year’s $770,000
“We’re nudging the million dollar mark which is a career best for Go Racing and it indicates that our horses are competing well at Group and Listed level. Naturally our owners are thrilled with the results.”
There are several horses on the honours role with their respective trainers:
• Passing Shot (pictured above) won two black type races (Stephen McKee)
• No More Tears won a Group 3 a Listed race and was Group 3 placed in Australia. (Stephen Marsh)
• What’s the Story ran second in the Group 1 New Zealand Derby by a nose. (Stephen McKee)
• Ruud Not Too ran second in the Group 2 Eight Carat Classic, and fifth in the very tough weight for age Group 1 Te Aroha Breeders Stakes. (Stephen Marsh)
• Mighty Solomon was Group 2 placed at weight for age (Lisa Latta)
• Seize the Moment was four times stakes placed (Stephen Marsh)
• Pinzano had three wins this season (Andrew Carston)
• Elusive Boxers, on the verge of retirement, won two and earned over $40,000 in the last few months of the season. (Lisa Latta/Andrew Carston)
• Sadlers Rock was placed 5 times in Cup races which included two defeats by a nose margin.
Says Matt, “It was a super season – Go Racing is going from strength to strength. It is an absolute pleasure to see how much of a kick our owners get from their horses winning and that is a feeling that you never get tired of experiencing”.
The first runner Go Racing for the new season will be Moneybox who will compete in a rating 65 1400 metres at Tauranga tomorrow and this will be followed on Saturday with North and South lining up in the $100,000 Group 3 Winter Cup at Riccarton and Sharp Elle starting in a maiden 1600 metres at Ruakaka.
