Arriving on Saturday at the height of the East Coast storm, coupled with king tides, was not an auspicious start to the Gold Coast Yearling Sales, Albert admitted.
Quality at the sales was also stormy. “We’ve certainly had to do our research to find the calibre we are after.”
Albert says that share sales for Go Racing this year have flown and the team were after two quality fillies to satisfy further demand.
On day one they secured a Foxwedge x Spinner’s Magic filly for A$70,000.
Foxwedge is exciting emerging sire who has just left a stakes winner – Volpe Veloce – in the two-year-old Castletown Stakes. Go Racing has recently syndicated the full brother to Volpe Veloce.
Spinner’s Magic, by O’Reilly, is twice Group 3 placed and five times winner and has had three winning foals. This filly (pitcured) is a striking colour, very athletic with a great walk and is closely related to Group winning Australian horses.
On day two they bought a filly by champion New Zealand racehorse So You Think out of Dash On Ruby who has four foals, all winners.
The filly is a half-sister to Group 1 winner and internationally performed HARRY’S SON who was a champion two-year-old in South Africa, ran second in a Group 2 in Dubai earlier this year and is now UK bound.
She is also a half-sister to Stakes-placed Henry of York and was purchased for A$80,000.
Both fillies will retain excellent residual value and if you are interested in taking a share contact Albert or Matt.
