Taipa Tiger has certainly earned his racing stripes with another impressive win in the 2200 metres rating 65 highweight at Rotorua on Saturday, for the excellent stake of $20,000.
Says Racing Manager Albert Bosma, “He’s not just winning but winning so comfortably, lengths ahead of his competition. He beat the time for the Group 3 Rotorua Cup at the same meeting, so is racing in great heart. ”
Taipa Tiger was carrying the top weight of 70.5kg with Buddy Lammas on board in place of regular rider Troy Harris who had already committed to riding race favourite Tiffany’s.
It was the third win in quick succession for the Thorn Park x Jumble five-year-old gelding after wearing the bridesmaid tag for quite some with a series of second placings.
Says Albert, “We are very impressed with his step up in form and full credit to trainer Lisa Latta. His owners, including long standing Go Racing supporter Irene Rimmington have been very patient. They are seeing their reward now.”
Taipa Tiger will next race at Trentham on the 23rd of May in a Rating 75 2100 metres worth $25,000.
