After a busy and successful week purchasing yearlings at Karaka, the full Go Racing team are hard at work back at the office.
Racing Manager Albert Bosma observed that this year’s sale got stronger and stronger as it went on. “The best buying was definitely early on in the Premier sales and we were prepared to purchase.”
Go Racing has bought ten horses and Albert is pleased with the depth of the yearlings he has on offer which were purchased from $20,000 to $110,000 and can be seen on the website.
“Over half the shares have already been snapped up by existing and new owners,” he reports.
Two horses to showcase include the O’Reilly x And a Curl filly and the Darci Brahma x Gifted Lass colt.
Says Albert, “With the untimely death of O’Reilly on New Year’s Eve, many of the O’Reilly fillies were withdrawn from the sale. This made us even more determined to secure those available as they will be valuable as future broodmares.”
The O’Reilly x And a Curl filly, a full sister to Australian Group 1 winner Sublimate and Group 3 winner Daring Hombre, will be trained by Stephen Marsh.
The Darci Brahma x Gifted Lass colt (pictured) reminded the Go Racing team of Mighty Solomon who is by the same sire. He’s a half-brother to Serena Miss who ran second in the Group 2 Wakefield Stakes this season, and is out of a More than Ready mare. The dam, Gifted Lass, is a half-sister to the multiple stakes winner, Presently. He will be trained by Lisa Latta.
Says Albert, “Both horses still have shares available as well as many other opportunities on the website. We’d love to have more owners involved.”
