Avondale Awakening for Ruudie

Avondale Awakening for Ruudie

It has been a patient and steady return to form for star filly Ruud Awakening, with a close second at Avondale on Saturday in the Listed IMG Counties Bowl.

Cambridge trainer Stephen Marsh was happy with the run and speculated she only ran out of fitness towards the end. “There’s plenty more improvement in her, don’t you worry.”
Go Racing Manager Albert Bosma agreed, “It was an excellent first up run with plenty of improvement. She is four now and taking a little more work to bring her to her peak, but she enjoyed her race on Saturday and is coming to hand beautifully. ”

The next steps in the campaign for the 2013 Karaka Million and Group 1 Diamond Stakes winner is likely to be the Group 3 Concorde at Ellerslie on December 6 leading up to the Group 1 Railway Stakes at Ellerslie on New Year’s Day, but this won’t be confirmed until later in the week.
“All things going well, we will no doubt have a sizeable syndicate presence on course for 1 January to cheer Ruudie on. It would be a great start to 2015.”
