Trainer Stephen McKee and Go Racing Manager Albert Bosma have a big opinion of Swiss Ace colt Passing Shot.
“He’s genuine group horse,” says Albert.
Their opinion was confirmed at Ruakaka on Saturday when he won fresh up as a three-year-old, without the benefit of a trial.
“He was a little soft and doesn’t like a wet track, but despite that he ran faster that the open class horses over the same distance at that meeting,” says McKee. “And he was carrying four kilos more than the second and third place getters, and five kilos more than the horse that came fourth.”
Says Albert, “He’s treated the race like a trial and come through it brilliantly. It was a big effort to win and he should improve lengths for it.”
His next start will be the listed Bonecrusher Stakes at Ellerslie worth $50,000 on 27 September with a programme aimed at the Group One 2000 Guineas at Riccarton on 8 November worth $400,000.
