M & M on the edge of glory
It will be a double billing for three-year-olds Mezzaluna and Mihaia at Avondale on Wednesday where they will run in consecutive races over 1400m in heavy conditions.
Say Racing Manager Albert Bosma, “They both ran second at their last start so we’re hoping to convert those to wins on Wednesday. They have also both drawn wide which we think will be an advantage on what will be a very wet track.”
Mihaia is a full brother to North and South and shows a lot of ability. Says Albert, “While he had an average first start, his second start showed a lot of promise by sitting three or four wide the whole way before charging home for second.”
Mezzaluna has run a fourth and two seconds this preparation and is due a win in the maiden for fillies and mares worth $12,000, which is an increase on the usual $7,000 midweek stake.
Both horses are trained by Stephen Marsh and will be ridden by Danielle Johnson. What a co-incidence!
