A (horse) fly on the wall at Go Racing

If you ring the Auckland office of Go Racing around lunchtimes most days you may have to wait a few moments.

A daily quiz challenge with the “South Island division”  - Matt Allnutt – is one of the fun ways the company likes to stay connected.

Says Albert, “What started out as one man working out of his spare bedroom twelve years ago has grown into a vibrant business with offices in three centres.”

As well as Matt in Christchurch, Go Racing business partner Pat Vinaccia is based in Wellington. “Pat visits us frequently, meets owners on the annual yearling tour and is always a starter for our social events up here!”

The Auckland office must be considered HQ though. Along with Albert, Antoinette McLeod has headed the accounts department for the past four and a half years. Recent recruit Rachel Danaher joined Antoinette earlier this year. Says Antoinette, “We both have racing-mad husbands which helps.”

Albert’s long suffering wife, Melissa, rounds out the team handling administration and communications.

In fact, it’s quite a family affair with the Go Racing kids pitching in to help at the office, behind the camera for Tube Talk and flying the Go Racing colours on open days.

“Even my Mum, who loves her racing, helps with the filing,” says Albert.

“We’re lucky that we all really enjoy what we do and enjoy working together.”

“We are all committed to providing our owners with the best experience possible. Feel free to ring and talk to any one of us – we are here to help.”

And occasionally we may need to “phone a friend” on the quiz so brush up on your general knowledge, we may need you.
