When you do your homework at the yearling sales there can occasionally be a horse that slips through the net and sells for well under what it should have made. This is one of those occasions.
By Champion sire SAVABEEL whose progeny averaged $245,000, he was a sensational buy. He is a strong and very balanced colt from one of the great New Zealand families. He is out of the VOLKSRAAD mare Baradevi who has already left two winners, including Byzantine, the winner of four races to date and Driven Force who only had four starts. Driven Force was beaten less than a length into second by Group 1 winner NICOLETTA at her third start, and was 4th in her fourth and last start in the Group 2 Royal Stakes.
His second dam is the Group 1 winner SHARVASTI and his third dam is the stakes winning and multiple Group 1 placed VEDODARA that has left three stakes-winners including SHASTRI and BHANDARA. This colt represents outstanding value and is one that completely slipped under the guard.
Physically he is a mature and strong colt that walks beautifully and he could possibly race as a two-year-old before being aimed at the classic races of the Guineas and Derby as a three-year-old.
He is very much like the good Savabeel’s I have trained from Go Racing, HASAHALO and What’s The Story – the right size and vitally, very athletic.
