Preferment x Wanaka Yearling Colt

Preferment x Wanaka Yearling Colt
An outstanding colt that we could not fault

By ZABEEL’S four time Group 1 winning son PREFERMENT who was the champion stayer in Australia, winning the VRC Derby and Weight-For-Age features the BMW, Australian Cup and Turnbull Stakes. He is out the winning mare WANAKA, who is a half-sister to the Group 1 winner in New Zealand and horse of the year in Singapore, ZIRNA. He is a three-quarter brother to TAVERNELLE who is a Group 3 winner in Australia, so he has a superb staying pedigree and an ideal horse for the Australian Guineas and Derbies as a three-year-old.

We love the PREFERMENT colt we bought last year and he shows any amount of ability, so we were keen to buy his nicest colt at the sale, which we believe this boy is.

Conformation wise he is faultless and has a great girth, which is where the engine room is. He moves very well and has a wonderful attitude. The only surprise to us was the price we paid and he is incredible value. He will race in Australia for enormous prizemoney where races are a minimum of $125,000 on a Saturday in Melbourne. He looks every bit a classic three-year-old for races like the VRC Derby – Trent and Natalie certainly know how to win one of those!
