Solid As A Rock

Go Racing continued its winning streak with 4 year-old gelding, Sadler’s Rock, winning the Wairarapa Cup (first raced in 1890) in Tauherenikau on 6 February.

Jockey Kelly Myers rode perfectly from the inside draw to get him to the one-one and he was too strong in the late stages although carrying the clear top weight of 58.5 kilos.

Sadler’s Rock, trained by Lisa Latta, has won four of his last 12 starts, the most recent on 2 January. His next start will either be the Wairoa Cup on 17 February or a $30,000 rating 85 race over 2000 metres at New Plymouth next Saturday where he has won before.

Sadler’s Rock is raced by the “Go Racing with the Rock” syndicate. One member of the syndicate, who had raced horses unsuccessfully for over 20 years until Sadler’s Rock winning streak, is also a syndicate member of another Go Racing horse, Charlestown, who ran in the recent Karaka Millions.
