Old Age Doesn't Stop Them

Oldtimer Pycok Flyer showed he is in the form of his life with a strong win at his home track of Woodville today in the Jamesons Motor Trimmers and Upholstery mile.

This capped off a strong formline which saw him run a 2nd, two 3rds and a 4th in his last four starts. He is a horse that just loves racing and is a real competitor, so a favourite with the stable and all of his owners. He has found a niche of travelling at a good pace, putting the field under pressure and kicking hard in the home straight.

This was his 6th win from 60 starts and he has paid a cheque in 29 of his starts all told, a wonderful record.

Pycok Flyers win backs up 9yo Chettaks 3rd on Saturday in the $30,000 Rating 85 “Wahid’ 2000 metres at New Plymouth on Saturday. He too lead all the way and fought hard when tackled, just going under narrowly.

Both horses have the same traits and hate being put out to spell. They are happiest in work and that is why they are still competitive and we are happy to keep racing them while they want to do it.
