Pycok Flies

Pycok Flyer notched up his 7th win by his biggest margin at Timaru on Friday when winning the Speights and Lion Beverages Rating 75 1600 metres by 5 1/4 lengths.

Cocky as he is known to the stable and his owners has been a revelation as an 8 year old and is racing in the form of his life. He has won two races this season, been placed five times and it looks like more is in store.

He won on Friday be leading the entire race and running his opposition into the deck, but doesn’t have to lead in his races. Most of his wins have come from racing wide and just off the pace in his career and it has only been his last two wins where he has led the entire race. He was ready to run a big race after being desperately unlucky in his previous start in a $30,000 Rating 85 1600 metres at Riccarton Park on their Premier day on the 5th of May.

It was also his first win on a slow track, giving him the royal flush of winning on all surfaces from good to Heavy. He has come through the race well and will next start at Riccarton Park on the 25th of May in a Rating 75 1600 metres worth $10,000.
