Swiss Ace x Derrydane 6YO Bay Colt
Trained by: Stephen McKee, Auckland
Karaka Millions 2014, here we come
By first season sire Swiss Ace, who was a Group 1 winning sprinter in Australia and a very fast horse. Swiss Ace’s progeny were all the rage at the Karaka sales because they were outstanding types and we thought this colt was the best of them all. His progeny sold up to $160,000 and he even had the sale topper in the festival sale at $125,000, a record price for this sale.
This colt is out of a Danehill mare, the same as Ruud Awakening, our Karaka Millions winner this year. Danehill mares are gold and his Dam Derrydane has already left the stakes performer Joesready, a winner as a two-year old in Australia. He is from the family of the Champion Shogun Lodge and the Group 1 winners Singing the Blues and Referral. He is light on his feet, correct, strong and was an early foal born in September, so is the ideal type for The Karaka Million.
